Moud is een klein stadje ten zuiden van Mashad, in de provincie Khorrasan. Tapijten uit dit gebied worden gekenmerkt door homogeniteit in patronen en kwaliteit. Warp en inslag zijn katoen en de stapel is wol. De garnituren zijn een versie van het traditionele Perzische schildpad trimmen. De tapijten worden in alle maten geproduceerd. Moud tapijten worden vaak gekopieerd in India, vanwege hun opmerkelijke homogeniteit. De karakteristieke Moud-ontwerpen behoren tot de meest uniforme, gelijkmatig geknoopte en gemakkelijk herkenbare ontwerpen van de provincie Khorrasan. Moud Mahi zijn gemaakt in een beige, lichtrode of blauwe tint, met all-over Mahi patronen of met een stervormig medaillon. Mahi betekent vis, en het Mahi-patroon is het meest gebruikte patroon in echte Perzische tapijten. Als je het goed bekijkt, zie je een vijver omringd door vier vissen.
